Once upon a time, the 21st century was perceived as a futuristic era of revolutionary transport: flying cars, teleportation, interstellar travel…
But the real technological revolution that arrived was in communications!
The Smartphone, also known as mobile phone, was a major pillar of this revolution, allowing us to call anyone from nearly anywhere.
Yet, another leap forward occurred when the Smartphone became a smartphone, allowing internet access, and more so, outside the home thanks to the advent of mobile data.
The phone, once limited to calls alone, now encapsulates a range of technologies that offer increasingly amazing features.
This everyday object is also a high-tech item, and manufacturers compete ingeniously to offer consumers a product that can meet their needs while offering something extra.
By focusing on high technology, the smartphone has become a quite pricey object.
But is this price justified? How to make sense of it all?

Our Thoughts on the iPhone 14 Pro
At first glance, it’s evident that the iPhone 14 Pro bears a close resemblance to its predecessor, the 13 Pro. Aside from a few new colors, and more significant rear lenses than previous models, there isn’t much difference on the exterior.
The high-quality finish commands respect. This sense of holding a premium phone is confirmed when you turn it on; in terms of display, we’re truly in the realm of excellence.
The 6.7-inch OLED screen is excellent and highly responsive. The screen brightness is powerful and allows for easy viewing even in full sunlight. As for performance, it’s at the top of the current market.
Overall, the components have improved compared to previous versions. Notably, the new accelerometer includes an accident detection feature: if the phone detects what it interprets as an accident, it will display a notification and, if there’s no response from the user, call for emergency help!
This model also introduces an “always-on” function, which is a first for an iPhone.
What sets the iPhone 14 Pro apart is the Dynamic Island: the front camera is hidden in a special black touch zone that’s part of the screen, in its upper part.
Apps are designed to account for this location, harmoniously integrating with the user experience and providing easy access to a host of features and notifications. This system can even handle multiple open apps.
The iPhone 14 Pro offers the best with a brighter screen, superb integration of the punch hole with the Dynamic Island, a more powerful A16 Bionic SoC, even better endurance, a new photo block like never before, and a finish worthy of premium smartphones.
Camera Quality
In terms of camera quality, it’s among the best in the world for a smartphone!
The main lens sees a major change, jumping from the usual 12 MP resolution in past iPhone iterations, to 48 MP. The quality of the camera allows for better photos with less light and in suddenness, even if this is less noticeable at night.
The depth of field is also exceptional, and the zoom quality is very good. Furthermore, the stabilizer is very effective. The front camera is, in its turn, 12 MP with autofocus, which is also very effective.
As usual with Apple, there’s the question of the price, which is quite high.
Pros and Cons of the iPhone 14 Pro
Pros
- General Performance
- Display
- Dynamic Island
Cons
- Price
- Lack of significant innovation
Our Verdict on the iPhone 14 Pro
- Efficiency: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Use: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Price: 1.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Quality: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
While the iPhone 14 Pro doesn’t bring anything truly revolutionary, it does introduce some new ideas. Above all, its display quality and overall performance make it one of the best smartphones currently available. It’s an excellent choice… if you have an appropriate budget.

Review of the OnePlus 10 Pro
What surprises you at first about the OnePlus 10 Pro is its sleekness. Despite its slim design, this Smartphone is quite powerful!
The touch experience is appreciable. The curved screen is very pleasant, offering beautiful colors and clear brightness, even in full sunlight.
It’s generally a device that’s enjoyable to use, thanks to the especially convincing OxygenOS system.
Also, like the previous model, it features an Alert Slider on the side, a small switch that allows you to quickly change the ringtone with a single gesture.
The OnePlus 10 Pro is a high-performing device. However, under heavy usage, it tends to heat up more quickly than other models.
Battery life is average for a device in this category. Depending on your usage, you might find it either sufficient or slightly inadequate.
However, the fast charging is very satisfying: it can charge up to 50% in just 15 minutes!
The fingerprint sensor is efficient. The camera does its job well, and there are plenty of interesting options for shooting.
The major drawback of the OnePlus 10 Pro is that it no longer has the IP68 certification the previous model had. Its water-resistance is therefore uncertain.
The balance between performance, battery life, RAM, and storage space is excellent in the OnePlus 10 Pro. Certainly, it’s a high-end price range, although it’s slightly lower than its competitors.
Plus, everything you need is included in the box: charger, screen protector, and case!
Pros and Cons of the OnePlus 10 Pro
Pros
- Pleasant to use
- Balanced performances
Cons
- Reduced water-resistance
- Heats up a bit faster
Our Verdict on the OnePlus 10 Pro
- Performance: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Usability: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Price: 2.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Quality: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
The OnePlus 10 Pro is undeniably a success. With this high-end device featuring well-balanced specifications, the manufacturer offers a model that definitely deserves a spot among the best Android Smartphones currently available.
iPhone SE 2022: Apple Quality That Doesn’t Cost an Arm and a Leg
Android users looking to switch to an iPhone often encounter a significant obstacle: the price. Indeed, Apple products are known, among other things, for their very high, even exorbitant, prices. But did you know that the apple brand now offers smartphones at a much more affordable price? This is the SE range, with the iPhone SE 2022 being the most recent representative.
iPhone SE 2022 Specifications at a Glance

Photo Demonstration of the iPhone SE 2022
Review of the iPhone SE 2022
The body of the iPhone SE 22 is that of an iPhone 8.
Indeed, with the SE range, Apple’s idea is to keep this design to offer a high-performance phone at a lower price – a lower price “for an iPhone”, which is less than $600 for the base version.
The dated design might not be to everyone’s taste, so that’s something to consider!
Inside the device, you will find an A15 Bionic chip, which is excellent for this price!
One might think it might be too much for this type of phone: however, the goal is to be able to keep it for a long time and for it to remain performant.
In terms of the camera, it’s a step backward as we only have one sensor at the back and one at the front.
Nonetheless, it’s undoubtedly one of the best single-sensor cameras on the market!
It offers excellent color and noise management, all boosted by the powerful processor.
Many photo features are also included.
The video quality is also satisfying, with no real competition at this price.
Even if we don’t expect to find high-end features, a night mode and wide angle would have been appreciated.
If you’re familiar with the iPhone 8, you won’t be disoriented.
Notably, the “Home” button, so familiar to many users, is present.
Everything works well, but it’s not quite current.
The usable screen area, for example, is not very large and does not seem evolved, and its refresh rate is only 60 Hz.
The battery life is just okay, and heavy use of the powerful chip will drain it quickly.
However, this will be less noticeable if you stick to basic tasks without overtaxing the processor.
Pros and Cons of the iPhone SE 2022
Pros
- Top single-camera
- High-performance processor
Cons
- Small screen
- Battery life
- Dated design
Our Verdict on the iPhone SE 2022
- Performance: 4.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Usability: 4.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Price: 3.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Quality: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
So yes, of course, one could argue that the iPhone SE 2022 is not up to the brand’s high-end standards, especially in terms of design. However, it should not be forgotten that, for a reasonable price, it has a powerful processor, and arguably the best single-lens camera on the market!

Photo Demonstration of the OnePlus Nord N200
Our Review of the OnePlus Nord N200
The ‘Nord’ range is OnePlus’s budget line.
This range is partly what helped the brand make a name for itself.
In fact, as of the time of writing, the OnePlus Nord N200 is the cheapest 5G phone on the market. Plus, the charger is included!
At first glance, the OnePlus Nord N200 pleasantly surprises: from the outside, it doesn’t look like an affordable model.
Indeed, the design is on point and the finishes are top-notch: it looks really elegant, even more elegant than some high-end models!
The screen takes up a large space, very satisfying in relation to the size of the phone.
This is slightly smaller than what is now found in the high-end, but this also makes it more manageable.
The LCD display is precise and detailed and it is a pleasant device to use.
The fingerprint reader is on the side: this can be very appreciated as well as prove to be annoying (depending on how you hold your phone, you might inadvertently swipe over it).
Performance-wise, the OnePlus Nord N200 does very honorably, even if the processor is no longer very young.
It’s only when you ask a lot of it, especially when many applications are open at the same time, that it may show some signs of weakness.
The autonomy is excellent and is certainly one of the strong points of this device.
“The OnePlus N200 5G really keeps its promises. I am someone who likes to get a lot for a little. When I saw the price and the features, I thought it would not be as good as expected. Sometimes, cheap phones are of poor quality and lack features.” – Tristan K.
Where it can be criticized is on the camera, which offers results a bit below the competition.
The front sensor is okay with its 16 MP, but the resolution of the rest is more disappointing.
Plus, there is no wide angle.
There are still nice image features, including a night mode and an AI that helps improve shots.
But the photos can go from best to least good, you won’t have “the perfect photo” every time.
The video quality is, however, rather correct.
Pros and Cons of the OnePlus Nord N200
Pros
- The cheapest 5G phone
- Very successful design
Cons
- A little less performant in multitasking
- Camera a bit behind
Our Verdict on the OnePlus Nord N200
- Efficiency: 4.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Usability: 4.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Price: 4.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Quality: 4.0 out of 5.0 stars
The OnePlus Nord N200 is not just the cheapest 5G phone: it’s a convincing phone, with a good price-quality ratio. While it doesn’t match high-end devices on several points, it remains one of the best choices for people who want to get a smartphone without breaking the bank.

Photo Demonstration of the Samsung Galaxy S22
Our Review of the Samsung Galaxy S22
The finish of the Samsung S22 is refined: it’s a very elegant phone.
The screen is slightly smaller than the Galaxy S21 (6.2 in instead of 6.1 in): the handling is slightly improved, it even has a “compact” aspect, especially as the frame around the screen is particularly narrow.
Display-wise, we are spoiled with a flat 1080p screen and adaptive AMOLED display (which reduces energy consumption).
The brightness is superb, even in full sunlight.
We also appreciate that the UI allows for a high-level user experience.
Performance is top-notch, particularly for games.
Where the device suffers is battery life: the battery, at only 3500 mAh, doesn’t last very long, especially with intensive use.
The charging capacity doesn’t make up for this drawback and isn’t particularly fast.
“I’m really happy to have made the switch and acquired this phone. It has so many more features than my old cell phone. The camera possibilities are phenomenal. I love using the speakers. It works super well.” – Leslie M.
On the other hand, the cameras are above average and can give great results in any situation.
Especially as the features (AI assistant, night photo mode, etc.) are numerous, varied, and effective.
As for the other components, the fingerprint reader is arguably the best on the market, and the speakers are really excellent.
Overall, the Samsung S22 is a high-quality mobile device: however, one may regret that it doesn’t bring any notable innovation.
Pros and Cons of the Samsung Galaxy S22
Pros
- Quality of the speakers
- Top-notch performance
Cons
- Battery life is lacking
Our Verdict on the Samsung Galaxy S22
- Efficiency: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Usability: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Price: 2.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Quality: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
Wow! The Samsung Galaxy S22 is truly an excellent smartphone. Yes, it doesn’t offer anything particularly surprising. But if you’re looking for a high-end phone that won’t disappoint, it will certainly have its place among your finalists!

Photo Demonstration of the Google Pixel 6
Our Review of the Google Pixel 6
A significant advantage of the Google Pixel 6 is its value for money: this is a phone capable of competing with the big players but at a mid-range price.
The cameras are presented in the form of a horizontal bar at the back, a rather original design choice.
It’s a phone with a large, flat, 1080p screen.
The internal chip is designed by Google, and it must be admitted that it does an excellent job!
Battery life is decent – but as always, it depends on your use.
However, charging is a bit slow, even in fast charge mode.
Note that you will not find facial recognition on this model.
The fingerprint reader is not the most efficient on the market and takes a little bit of time.
Aside from this, the screen is very responsive.
As usual, Google enhances the user experience to make everything smooth and easy.
This includes a host of integrated digital assistants.
One example: the app can tell you what song was playing at the grocery store two hours ago, or the real-time subtitles on a video!
This latter function is made possible thanks to Google’s mastery of “speech-to-text”, also found in voice text input.
It’s astonishing to see how accurately dictated text is transcribed.
Similarly, voice commands work very well.
“I was primarily an Apple user before. Then I became an Android user and bought Samsung devices. I was impressed by the Pixel 6 reviews and videos I saw, and after buying it, I know I made the right decision. I am a Google fan now! I particularly love the translation function and the voice dictation function: no need to edit the text afterwards.” – Jay J.H.
The camera is a strong point of the device.
Additionally, the software contribution to the photos is up to the hardware standard: this is indeed one of the points on which the Pixel range has built its reputation.
By default, the photos are polished and stunning (to the point of being overly retouched: it can sometimes be too bright).
In addition to this, the photo functions are intuitive and super useful, notably the Magic Eraser for removing unwanted elements from an image, quite impressive.
Videos are also beautiful and dynamic; only the front camera in night mode is a bit less convincing.
Pros and Cons of the Google Pixel 6
Pros
- Value for money
- A plethora of features
- High-level photo package
Cons
- Somewhat slow charging
- No facial recognition
Our Verdict on the Google Pixel 6
- Efficiency: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Usability: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Price: 3.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Quality: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
The Google Pixel 6 is genuinely a surprising phone. Among the generous offerings of available cell phones, it manages to stand out with impressive and original features, as well as remarkable photo quality. Plus, it’s one of the best value-for-money devices on the market!

Our Take on the Samsung Galaxy A03s
The Samsung Galaxy A03s is part of the Korean brand’s entry-level models. Undeniably, it isn’t the crème de la crème of smartphones but it does come equipped with three rear sensors and a large battery.
The texture at the back offers a good grip and on the side, you’ll find an efficient fingerprint sensor. At the top of the screen, there’s a notch for the typical A-series front sensor.
While the camera specifications may not seem particularly striking, the quality of the photos is fairly decent, with portraits coming out well. However, there is a noticeable lack of sharpness when zooming in on details, and it isn’t the ideal device for low-light photography.
Video quality, on the other hand, is a step back compared to current standards.
“It’s an excellent choice for children and adults who want something inexpensive and functional. As my daughter’s first phone, I found it to be excellent. The size is ideal for gaming, watching movies, and using the internet. The photo quality is exactly what she needs to capture moments she wants to remember. I highly recommend it.” – A.C.
When it comes to the screen, the color representation isn’t exceptional, but the contrast is quite good. The brightness is decent, too.
However, the performance leaves something to be desired, even for a device in this price range. As a result, the most demanding games will not run very smoothly.
The general user experience remains quite pleasant, despite the features being more limited than on more expensive models, and the minimum number of apps. It’s also worth noting that this model does not support 5G.
The speaker quality is average.
The standout feature of the Samsung Galaxy A03s is its battery life, which can exceed 122 hours! However, the charging time is quite lengthy.
Pros and Cons of the Samsung Galaxy A03s
Pros
- Excellent battery life
- Affordable price
- Acceptable photo quality for the price
Cons
- Not 5G compatible
- Inferior video quality
- Mediocre performance
- Long charging time
Our Verdict on the Samsung Galaxy A03s
- Efficiency: 3.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Ease of Use: 4.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Price: 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
- Quality: 4.0 out of 5.0 stars
Indeed, the Samsung Galaxy A03s may suffer when compared to other models, especially high-end ones. However, its low cost significantly compensates for its shortcomings. It’s an undeniable fact that, for its price, this device would suit a large number of users who aren’t necessarily after ultimate quality.

Buying a Smartphone: Things to Know
Should I Choose an iPhone or an Android?
Choosing between these two operating systems is often the first decision when purchasing a new smartphone.
- iOS is Apple’s operating system, found on iPhones. iPhones are typically high-quality phones. The operating system is user-friendly and highly recommended for those who use other Apple products at home (computers, smart home devices, etc.).
- Android is the operating system for all other phones (Google, Samsung, Motorola, OnePlus, etc.). This system offers more customization options. Quality, performance, and user experience can greatly differ among brands.
Why Do Smartphones Have Different Photo Sensors?
Most current models are equipped with multiple sensors, each providing different functions. These include:
- Main sensor: Used most frequently for photos and videos.
- Depth sensor: Enhances depth of field to foreground subjects.
- Macro sensor: Used for close-up shots, typically capturing small objects that the main sensor cannot focus on.
- Wide-angle sensor: Significantly expands the field of view.
- Telephoto lens: Allows zooming without losing detail quality in distant objects.
How Do I Purchase a Smartphone?
You can either:
- Buy a new Smartphone through your telecom provider. This allows for monthly payments, billed with your Smartphone plan.
- Buy a new, unlocked phone at full price, either in-store or online. Check for compatibility with your telecom provider, especially with imported models.
Remember to ensure the Smartphone you’re buying online is brand new.
Should I Stick to the Same Brand When Changing Phones?
Sticking to the same brand facilitates data transfer and compatibility with other devices. However, if a brand disappoints you, don’t hesitate to switch.
Our Criteria for Buying a Smartphone
Camera
- Sensor resolution: Higher resolution generally offers more details.
- Different sensors: These can be more or less useful depending on your needs.
- Video quality: This may differ from photo quality.
- Photo features: Many Smartphones now allow for significant photo edits.
Performance
Modern Smartphones are high-tech devices. The better the performance, the higher the price. Consider if your usage justifies the investment.
Battery Life and Charging
Smartphone hardware now often outperforms battery life. Manufacturers offer varying systems for quick charging.
User Experience
- Responsiveness: Of the screen and buttons.
- Ergonomics: Such as side button placement, natural handling, etc.
- Interface: Different interfaces offer varying user experiences.
Storage Capacity
Storage capacity is important as operating systems, apps, and media take up increasing space. An option to expand storage (e.g., with an SD card) is a plus.
