If you’re concerned about Google tracking your location, even when your phone’s geolocation settings are turned off, there are steps you can take to block the internet giant from recording your movements.
First, you’ll want to block the activity of Google applications by making adjustments online. To do this, go to the Google – My activity page (linked to your account) and click on “Activity controls”. From there, deactivate the “Web and app activity” and “Location history” options. A confirmation window will appear, simply click on “Suspend” to complete the process.
It’s important to note that disabling these options will also prevent certain personalized features, such as weather and traffic updates, from working correctly. However, if privacy is a top concern for you, this is a necessary step to truly stop Google from tracking your location.
