Hello, young designers! Today, we’re going to learn how to change the background color in Figma. This is a simple task, but it can make a big difference in your designs. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Understand the Canvas and Frames

In Figma, your work area is called the canvas. This is where you create and arrange your designs. You can add frames to your canvas, which are like mini-canvases for each part of your design.

Step 2: Access the Frame Tool

To create a frame, press the ‘F’ key on your keyboard. This will activate the Frame tool. Click and drag your mouse to draw a frame on the canvas.

Step 3: Select the Canvas

Now, let’s change the color of the canvas. Click anywhere on the canvas outside of your frames. You’ll see that the canvas (or page, as Figma calls it) has a color.

Step 4: Change the Canvas Color

Look for the ‘Document Color’ section on the right side of your screen. Click on it, and you’ll see options to change the color. You can make it lighter, darker, or any color you want!

Step 5: Change the Frame Background Color

You can also change the background color of your frames. Click on a frame to select it. Each frame has a fill color, which is usually white. Click on the fill color to change it.

Step 6: Explore the Color Options

You have many options for changing the color. You can choose a solid color, a gradient of colors, or even an image or video! If you want the frame to be transparent, drag the slider all the way down.

Step 7: Adjust the Blend Mode

The blend mode changes how your color interacts with anything behind the frame. Play around with it to see what you like best!

And there you have it! Now you know how to change the background color of your canvas and frames in Figma. Happy designing!
