Hyundai has unveiled its latest SUV, the Tucson Plug-in Hybrid, which boasts a rechargeable hybrid engine that offers impressive performance and excellent range. The fourth-generation SUV comes in three different trims, making it a formidable contender in a highly competitive market.

Efficient and Powerful Engine

The Tucson Plug-in Hybrid is equipped with a 1.6 T-GDi engine that delivers 180 horsepower (hp) and an electric motor that offers 91 hp. Together, they generate a combined output of 265 hp and a maximum torque of 350 Nm, providing excellent performance.

With WLTP cycle mixed consumption of only 1.4 l/100 km for 31 g/km of CO2, the Tucson’s hybrid engine offers an excellent fuel economy. The Tucson’s battery has a capacity of 13.8 kWh, offering a maximum range of 62 km in mixed cycle mode or up to 74 km in urban cycle mode.

The battery can be charged in 1 hour 45 minutes to 5 hours, depending on the type of plug used.

Distinctive Design

The Tucson Plug-in Hybrid’s front-end design is distinctive, with its signature LED headlights integrated into a broad grille. The overall design is elegant and dynamic, measuring 4.5 meters long, putting it in direct competition with the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid, Tiguan eHybrid, and the new Nissan Qashqai e-Power.

Generous Equipment

The Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid comes in three trims: Creative, N Line Executive, and Executive. The entry-level Creative trim is fully equipped with bi-LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, customizable LED ambient lighting, heated front seats, and rear bench seats that fold down from the trunk. The car’s safety features are also top-notch, with blind-spot monitoring and active lane change assistance.

The N Line Executive trim level comes with heated and electrically adjustable front and rear seats, including front seat ventilation and a driver memory function. A 360° camera with blind-spot display and active highway driving assistance is also standard on this trim.

The Executive trim level, the highest of the three, adds a rear parking brake, a panoramic sunroof, and leather upholstery.
