As part of our follow-up to COMPUTEX 2023, we at GoStart.Biz had an exclusive meeting with Cooler Master’s Regional Manager, Mr. Shane Alborough. This was to discuss some matters and get answers to questions and inquiries related to the company’s plan for the current year, upcoming solutions for products and sustainability, and more.
Now that we’ve seen the new Sneakers X gaming case, how many cases will be available in stock worldwide and in the Middle East and North Africa region?
Shane Alborough: There will be sets of special editions in collaboration with NBA, which will be limited to certain regions. However, the two models that were displayed this year at Computex will be available for mass production, of course, depending on supply and demand in each region.
We’ve seen many products that have transitioned to a cable-less design in the market, how does Cooler Master plan to support other manufacturers in this regard? Are we expecting magnetic fans soon?
Shane Alborough: Supporting all manufacturers for all products is a very difficult task, but our R&D team is working hard to ensure that we are always at the forefront of new technology, whether this technology is implemented by us or by another manufacturer.
Are we expecting any similar products after Computex?
Shane Alborough: There are indeed some projects in preparation, but I cannot share them at the current time, but I can confirm that there are some exciting things coming.

Will we see Cooler Master exploring new markets soon, like the graphics card and motherboard market, for example?
Shane Alborough: Yes, you will definitely see us enter these markets – and our first project in this field will be in collaboration with PNY, but we have some other projects already scheduled.
What is the best offer in your opinion from CM this year?
Shane Alborough: The gaming device we showcased is something we are very proud of, and the market response has been great. This preference will certainly remain between the platform and Master Hub as the two elements that had the best feedback.
Will we see Cooler Master hosting any esports tournaments this year in the Middle East and North Africa region?
Shane Alborough: Yes, we are studying a plan for an esports championship in Africa, but the remaining time for 2023 is very limited, so this decision is likely to be postponed to 2024. However, we run ongoing online tournaments through our weekly internal MasterCup event, which is available for all enthusiasts and professional players, and even regular players to participate in. Participants also have the opportunity to win cash prizes and valuable products.
What are the innovations and technological trends in the hardware world that you are interested in now?
Shane Alborough: The integration of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things into devices will certainly be a focus area over the next 2-5 years, and a very interesting area to move into.
What are your company’s latest sustainability solutions and how can they affect the environment?
Shane Alborough: As a brand, we are looking to reduce our carbon footprint by using more recycled materials in our products, as well as looking at how to improve factory processes to reduce our overall energy consumption. This is indeed a long process, but we are moving towards our goal step by step in order to do our part in creating a sustainable ecosystem for future generations.
Can you share with us the most successful product you’ve had so far? And which one do you think will be the best-selling from this year’s lineup?
Shane Alborough: The Hyper 212 air cooler is our best-selling air cooler ever, and this legacy continues today with the new versions of it that have just been launched – the Hyper 212 Halo series – which will certainly be one of our best-selling products this year.
It was a fun interview with one of the best companies in the hardware industry, and we hope to meet again at the same time with Cooler Master with a new lineup!
