Twitter (X) is one of the prestigious “top 2”, with Facebook, of the most popular social networks in the world. It has hundreds of millions of daily users and many rely on it to get the latest news and trends. The site experiences controversy from time to time. However, no other social network presents things in chronological order, so you can see the latest happenings. If you’re looking for an exceptional Twitter (X) experience, look no further.

This space has stagnated a lot in recent years. However, Twitter (X) might be rolling out some tools that could lead to a new wave of third-party Twitter (X) apps. We’d also like to give an honorable mention to Friendly Social Browser (Google Play link). It supports many social media sites, including Twitter, but it’s a bit rudimentary.

Top 10 Apps for Twitter (X) on Android

Hootsuite is one of the original Twitter (X) apps which also allows to follow multiple networks social at the same time. With it, you can check your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and various other accounts from a single center. The app is a bit confusing at first, but it’s very easy to use once you get the hang of it. This requires a subscription for the full feature list. However, only businesses and similar entities would need something like this.

Fenix 2 for Twitter

Price: 4.99

Fenix 2 is the sequel to one of the most popular Twitter (X) applications more popular. Fenix 2 adds a bit of refinement as well as other things compared to the first. This is good news because the first one is no longer available on Google Play. It supports multiple accounts, a mute system, a great design, and more. There are even some customization options for your main screen. It works great, although it’s a bit newer than most more mature Twitter (X) apps. It is also inexpensive, although there is no free version to try first.

Friendly For Twitter (X) is one of the most popular Twitter (X) apps recent in this list. The app lets you log into Twitter (X) and scroll through the old timeline like any other Twitter (X) app. There are also a variety of tools. Additional features include the ability to download Twitter (X) videos, GIFs, and images if desired. The pro version also offers plenty of customization options.

Owly for Twitter

Price: Free / 2.99

Owly for Twitter (X) is a newer Twitter (X) application. She’s easily among the best in a slowing and shrinking Twitter (X) app market. However, it can still be improved. It does the basics and also includes unique ways to bypass Twitter’s character limit and other such tools. It lacks some basic functionality and UI elements though, which is something to keep in mind. It’s a simple and decent Twitter (X) app with some fun features, but we’d love to see it improved over time.

Tweet2gif

Price: Free

Tweet2gif is not an alternative to Twitter (X) but rather a Twitter (X) tool. It lets you upload videos and GIFs, which the standard app usually doesn’t. Videos are downloadable in MP4 format, GIFs are downloadable in GIF format, and there is a download history. The app works quite well. You copy and paste the link to a tweet into the app and it analyzes the data and allows you to download the content. The app has a very occasional bug according to Google Play reviews, but it performed well in our testing. It’s a great tool for those who want to grab something from Twitter.

TwitPane is one of the lightest and most customizable Twitter (X) applications. Its claim to fame is the ability to show only the tabs you want to see. UberSocial for Twitter

Price: Free / 4.99

Ubersocial is actually produced by the same developers who made us brought Plume for Twitter, so if you’ve used one, you kind of know what to expect from the other. It has deeper Facebook integration than usual and you can post to Facebook using the app. It also has some of the most basic features of a third-party Twitter (X) app, like multiple account support, message mute, live view, chat view, and more. There are also themes and some weird features like shake-to-refresh. It’s a fun app to try, although it’s starting to lose its appeal compared to more modern, fresher-designed Twitter (X) apps. This same developer is also behind Plume, another competent and popular Twitter (X) client.

Twitter

Price: Free

Twitter. Hilariously, the official Twitter (X) app is one of the least bloated options on the list. It does what you need it to do and that’s about it. It will be the first to support new Twitter (X) features. This includes things like Twitter (X) Moments, Live Images, Fleets, and possibly the new Twitter (X) Places feature. It’s completely free, will never run out of tokens, and even has decent timing settings. Its great advantage, however, is having Twitter (X) functions that none of the third-party apps can get yet.
