It’s that time of the year again, folks! Xiaomi is set to release its latest smartwatch, the Xiaomi Mi Band 8. If you’re like me, you’re already on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what this new gadget has in store for us. In this review, we’ll cover everything we know about the Xiaomi Mi Band 8, including its features, release date, and expected price.

What Makes the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 Big Thing?

The Xiaomi Mi Band has always been known for its excellent value for money, as well as its practical features. Not only can you check the time, but you can also receive notifications from your phone, track your physical activity, and even monitor your heart rate. We can only hope that the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 will continue to improve on these features and bring us even more functionality. So far, here’s what we know about the new smartwatch.

What’s New in the Xiaomi Mi Band 8?

Since the release date is still a few months away, not much has been revealed about the Xiaomi Mi Band 8. However, some leaked images have surfaced, showing that the watch will feature new strap mechanisms. Unlike previous models, the new version will have a traditional strap mechanism with attachments located at the top and bottom on the back of the watch.

With this change, we’ll have to say goodbye to the one-piece silicone straps that have accompanied the Xiaomi Mi Band for years. Instead, the straps will be similar to those found on the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro, with buttons located near the attachments. Other than the strap, there doesn’t seem to be any major changes in the design, with a front screen that takes up most of the watch and sensors located on the back.

As for the screen size, we don’t know if Xiaomi will increase it or stick with the 1.62-inch screen found in the Mi Smart Band 7. We also don’t know how many models will be released, but since the 7th generation had a standard and Pro model, it’s likely we’ll see a similar strategy with the new family.

Price and Release Date of the Xiaomi Mi Band 8

Xiaomi hasn’t shared any official information about the price or release date of the Xiaomi Mi Band 8. However, we can look to previous models for guidance. The Xiaomi Mi Band 7 was announced in China on May 24, 2022, and was available for purchase just a week later. Based on this information, we can expect the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 to be announced in late May 2023.

If the release strategy is the same as the 7th generation, we’ll have to wait until June for the global announcement and release. Yes, you read that right, the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 may be available to you as early as June.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 8 has received its first certification in South Korea, indicating that it’s on its way to being released. As for the price, we don’t know yet, but we do know that there was a $15 increase between the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 and Xiaomi Mi Band 7. If the standard version of the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 doesn’t include NFC and doesn’t have many new features, it’s likely to have a similar price to the previous model, around $59.99.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Xiaomi Mi Band 8 is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the smartwatch market. We can’t wait to see what new features it brings and how it will improve on the previous model. While we wait for the release, let’s keep our fingers crossed that Xiaomi will continue to provide
