Samsung has announced earlier this year that it will be discontinuing some features in Samsung Cloud, including Drive Storage and Gallery Sync. This means you won’t be able to sync your files and photos with the cloud service, and any current backup files you’ve made will be deleted. Although Samsung is expected to remove the backup option for your gallery to Samsung Cloud in order to reduce storage costs, the company plans to continue storing certain data such as contacts, calendar entries, and notes.
So let’s find out how you can download your files from the cloud using your mobile device before it’s too late.
Via the Main Settings Menu
- Open the main settings menu on your phone.
- Select the “Accounts and backup” option.
- Scroll down until you see the option “Looking for something else?” and tap on it.
- Then, select the Samsung Cloud option, which will display an option to download your data.
- Download the data to your phone.
If you don’t have enough available storage space on your phone or don’t want to create duplicates, you can use the desktop method instead.
Method: Samsung Cloud Website
Simply visit the Samsung Cloud website and log in with your credentials, just like you would on your mobile device. Then, click on the gallery option. There, you will see the option to download any photos, as well as the ability to download all your backup data.
