Over the years, we have witnessed how mobile displays have gradually become the key point of smartphones. This has allowed us to enjoy content on a larger and larger panel with a construction that has been eliminating the hated frames.
In Vivo phones, we also have a series of options known as full screen mode. This tool allows us to customize our experience with OriginOS. These options were introduced with OriginOS 3 and have continued to be present in newer versions of the software.
Within the settings of Vivo phones, we can find variations and modifications that allow us to customize the experience to our liking, regardless of the model.
The native mode for apps
Within the native configuration of Chinese phones, there is a special mode that tries to offer a solution to fully utilize the display of the device. This mode gets rid of the buttons on the panel or top bar that try to hide the notch. This option can be overlooked or combined with other modes that we will see below. To fully utilize the screen in OriginOS, we can follow these steps:
- We start by entering the mobile settings.
- Next, we click on the panel section.
- Finally, we will enter the Vivo Full Screen Mode.

In this section we will see all the apps we have on our mobile, both the system itself and those that we have installed manually through Play Store or other means. By simply checking or unchecking the applications we will be telling our phone to use the entire front of the screen regardless of the bottom bar or the type of notch we have. To play video on YouTube, for example, we can be very useful.
Throughout the system
The option that we have seen above is fine for specific cases or specific applications, but what if we want to enjoy the entire screen in Vivo always, that is, if we want to be always at its maximum size when we are browsing, for example, by the OriginOS settings.
This can be solved in three ways, which could come to vary depending on our model or version of the Chinese customization layer that we have installed on the device.
Use the gestures of OriginOS
If we get rid of the buttons that appear on screen and opt to use the increasingly popular gestures, we will be gaining a fabulous space to see more content in OriginOS. A simple process that we will get as follows:
- We access the settings of our mobile smartphone.
- Then, we go to the Additional Settings.
- We choose the option play full.
- Finally, we will have to change the option to put full screen the Vivo.
Within this same option, it will be good to know how to enable or disable the indicator with which you can see the area where you can make gesture in the form of a semicircle from the center left or right to switch between applications without accessing the multitasking section.
To do this, all we will have to do is go to the Vivo mobile settings > Additional settings > Full screen mode > Hide full screen indicator. Once this feature is enabled, we can see a small white bar at the bottom of the touch of the device. In this case, what it does is to indicate or show the area where you must make a gesture from left to right to move between applications. On the other hand, if we deactivate this tool, the indicator will not appear in bar.
Although, the gesture to move between applications we can still use. However, it is something that we can only use if we use the default Vivo launcher, even if we use the Launcher, we can not opt for this feature.
Do not hide the notch
There are many Vivo smartphones that have notch and therefore use the same OriginOS system to hide it. Although it is a very useful feature if we want to go back to the past with displays without holes or these measurements. But, however, it also makes us lose part of the Chinese mobile panel.
To recover it, we will have to go into Settings > Display > Notch and status bar > Hide notch. The ideal option to get the full display of our Vivo mobile is the one that does not hide the notch and leaves it as it is. Of course, keep in mind that these steps may vary depending on the OriginOS layer that we have installed on the Chinese device.
With an App
In the case of not finding the option in our Vivo mobile, it is always possible that we have to make use of a third-party application created for this purpose. One of the best is FullScreen Immersive, which will let us squeeze the most out of each software to take advantage of the full size of the screen. Although, the main drawback is that we will not find it on Google Play, but is available only in apk.
This application, which does not require root permissions, adds several display options to the taskbar. Essentially, when running an app, we can slide the bar down and quickly change the type of display. However, the problem is that we cannot find it on the Google Play Store, so we must download the file from a website for external apps.
To do this, we must give the necessary permissions to the phone to install unknown tools. To activate this, follow these steps:
- Go into Settings.
- Tap on the Privacy Protection section > tap on Special permissions.
- Now, tap on the Install unknown apps option.
- Select the browser that you normally use and in which, later, you will use to download this app.
- Finally, activate the option of Authorize downloads from this source.
