How to Format a PSP
To reset or format your PSP device, follow these steps carefully to perform the process correctly and safely:
- Turn on your PSP and navigate to the “Settings” option in the main menu.
- Click on the “System Settings” option.
- Go to the “Format Flash Memory” option and click on “Yes.”
- Restart your PSP, and the formatting process will be completed.
Before resetting your PSP, it is highly recommended to create a backup of your data, as all data will be erased after the reset, leaving no files on the device. Any data not backed up will be permanently lost. As an additional note, if you want to format your device’s memory card, remove it from your PSP and insert it into your computer using a card reader. Then, locate the card through “My Computer,” right-click on it, and select “Format.”
Choose to format the memory card with the FAT32 file system, and once the process is completed, reinsert the card into your PSP.
Finally, to format your PSP’s internal memory, use the “System Settings” and “Format Flash Memory” options found in the “Settings” menu. To format the memory card, insert it into your computer system and use the “Format” option to perform the process quickly and easily.
